Washington [US], May 2 (ANI): Why the transmission of HIV infection from mother to baby in womb occurs in some cases but not others has long been a mystery, but now a team of researchers from Weill Cornell Medicine and Duke University has found an important clue about the same which also gives treatment hints to eliminate the infection in infants.
In a study published in the medical journal PLoS Pathogens, the researchers found evidence linking mother-to-child transmission of HIV to rare variants of the virus in the mother s blood that is able to escape broadly neutralizing antibodies (bnAbs) an emerging type of treatment that can be used to block a wide range of HIV strains. The scientists also found that these HIV variants tend to contain key genetic signatures.

The writer is a Barrister of Lincoln’s Inn and an advocate of the High Courts of Pakistan
About 39% of Pakistan’s population is under 18. Therefore, it is important to have special courts and mechanisms specifically for the needs of the country’s children. Child Courts, also known as Juvenile Courts and Child Protection Courts, have been established in Pakistan under the Juvenile Justice System Act (JJSA) 2018, to improve the juvenile justice system for children in conflict or in contact with the law and to provide them with child-sensitive and fair justice. The JJSA 2018 defines a child as a person under 18 years of age. However, the state has failed to protect children, pre-, during and post-trial due to shortfalls in the law’s implementation.

He submitted that vires of the act are against the injunction of Islam and are therefore not applicable to the Muslims. He submitted that the family judge has to decide each and every issue of Muslim marriage in light of the Muslim law according to their religion. He submitted that he filed a suit in a family court for the restitution of conjugal rights, but it was dismissed by the court and the appellate court.
